That’s right, Foo Fighters are set to take the stage at the Grammy Nominations Concert which will be televised live on Dec. 3 on CBS from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. This isn’t the actual Grammys date, however. The actual Grammys aren’t until February 8th, 2009. This show coincides with the grand opening of the new Grammy Museum in the L.A. Live complex. Tickets for this show can be found there as well. Sadly this place isn’t a new venue in Los Angeles, but it is a place for traveling exhibits, and we look forward to seeing some good exhibits in the near future worth evading. Update: Evade the Road Noise

America’s one and only singing road is grooving again. Same song, same fun, different location. Previous information about this road can be found here on evadethenoise. After many complaints about the constaint noise of the road from nearby neighbors, Honda’s prior musical asphalt endeavor has sadly been paved over. But apparently for merely bragging rights, the City of Lancaster’s Parks and Recreation Department has fully funded its reopening on another nearby road. What does a venture like this cost? About $35,000 for the work to be done actually! I knew I could count on you Lancaster to make such a wise economic decision. So next time you’re on your way to the world’s biggest ball of twine, stop by and check it out. It is located on Avenue G and 30th West.

Princeton - Bloomsbury

Third Eye Blind | Free New Song

If there’s one band that I think could define junior high (and most of the 90’s) for me, it’s Third Eye Blind. After being off the scene for 5 years, Third Eye Blind is back with a free single for everyone to download [click to download] called “Non-Dairy Creamer”. Apparently they’ve got a new EP coming out mid-November and a new full-length to follow called URSA MAJOR. Lyrically the new song is a bit strange, but that would line up right with previous Third Eye Blind songs. Musically however I think the song is actually pretty good. They’ve done a good job with sticking with a style they know and not straying too far from the band they used to be. Be sure and give it a listen and let us know your thoughts on it.

You may have heard about MTV–they used to play music videos back in the day, complete with VJ (Video Jockeys) and countdowns. Well, that was way back in the 90’s. Today MTV consists of second-rate reality television and little to no music. But today we’re putting that behind us because MTV just rolled out MTVMUSIC.com. How they were able to sneak this one by everyone amazes me, but they quite literally have every video you can image for free on that site. You want Hanson “Mmm Bop”, they got it. You in the mood for a little De La Sol “Me Myself and I” then your set to go! Be sure and do a search for your favorite video, I can pretty much guarantee they have it. I never thought I would say this, but thanks for doing something cool MTV.

Unreleased Download: Sleeping At Last

We here at Evade, like to encourage quality music and one of the bands that we admire is Sleeping At Last. SAL is an independent alternative rock band from Illinois. Both their albums Ghosts and Keep No Score are personal favorites or mine that I keep coming back to on the ipod. A couple weeks ago they were asked to participate in a campaign for the Humane Society of the United States which aims to raise awareness about animals. For more info go here. But SAL recorded a new song “All Things Bright & Beautiful” and it’s for free here. Enjoy.

TNF: What was Mending is now Broken

I hate to say this, but The New Frontiers have broken up. They have officially called it quits and will finish their tour with Mae in Dallas, Texas. This is really sad to hear as we here at evade, have been very much enjoying their latest record Mending, which could very well be one of the best albums of the year. We actually just weeks earlier wrote up a review here. So with this said go out and pick up your copy of Mending today, you will not regret it.

On a side note, did it catch anyone’s eye to see that there are only three members currently in Mae?
